The Pursuit of the Heart

We serve a God that is continually pursuing us. He knows us and yet continually pursues us with His unconditional love. Let that soak into your mind and heart today.

2,000 years ago, Jesus invited a handful of men and said, “Follow me.” His first call to them was not, "Come, follow Me and I will make you a better Christian..." He didn't say, "Come, follow Me and I will help your life be easier and less painful..."

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him.
— Matthew 4:19-20

The pursuit of God for the hearts of mankind through the gospel is the same pursuit that we should have as followers of Christ. To follow Jesus and make disciples. The heartbeat of the gospel is making disciples.

On a regular basis, I am seeking to ask myself some questions to make sure that my heart is in sync with the Father's heart.

How well am I loving the people in my life?
Who am I actively praying for each day?
Who is the next person in my life that needs Jesus?
