Give your Cares to God

"The happiest people I know are the ones who have learned how to hold everything loosely and have given the worrisome, stress-filled, fearful details of their lives into God's keeping." Charles Swindoll.

I'm amazed at how fast I can become weighed down. We live in a world that is crying out for peace.

Jesus came to not only rescue us from the penalty of sin but the power of sin. It is the renewal process that happens when we pray and seek God's Word. He replaces our worry with faith. We cast our entire burden upon God because He cares!

"Don't worry about anything, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-6

All of life's situations and troubles can be summed up in the Christ-follower's response to replace worry with prayer.

I am only responsible to how I respond to life. The Bible calls us to take our concerns and lay them at the feet of Jesus. Leave them there and continue investing our time in His mission to make disciples.

Charles Spurgeon said, "As sure as God puts His children in the furnace He will be in the furnace with them."

My parents always tell me to "rest in flight." I haven't really thought about what this means exactly. Am I a bird? I don't think so. As I move through life, rest in God's peace while showing God's peace to this troubled world.

I love what Wayne Cordeiro said in his book, "Leading on Empty," "We won't be held accountable for how much we have done, but for how much we have done of what He asked us to do."

Give your cares, big and small to the God of the universe. He is the king of our hearts. He can handle it. Nothing is too big for Him.

God's got this. Give your burdens and cares to God.
