Transitioning in Ministry

We all face transitions in life. I have faced numerous transitions growing up as a "PK" (pastor's kid) and throughout my college experience. You meet people who become lifelong friends. You make lifelong memories with friends that impact eternity. One thing that remains a constant is relationships. Ministry is all about relationships. I have served the past 3 years with wonderful people at Watermark Church in Ashford, Alabama. It has been great to see lives changed because of Jesus Christ. The Watermark church family has been great to us. I believe the foundation that God has laid at Watermark will continue to improve in the days ahead. We are sad to move from friends in Alabama but we are thankful to transition to a new ministry. It is bittersweet. We are transitioning into a new ministry opportunity starting May 1st. We have sought God's will on the future and have accepted the call to lead the student ministry at Church @ the Springs in Ocala, Florida. My prayer is that many become fully devoted followers of Jesus! I'm blown away that God allows us to be a part of what He is doing. I am not worthy but He is.

We are also grateful to be near my mother-in-law as she undergoes treatment for cancer. My prayer is that we can be an encouragement to her during this time. We are grateful for baby Micah to make an appearance in September!

God has been faithful to help us find a home in Ocala and possibly rent out our home before we move this next week. It is amazing how God has orchestrated every detail of our transition. It is simply God revealing more of His character, plan and purpose. Please pray that I will stay faithful to His calling.

My life passage is Philippians 3:12-14:

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
