Current Series: Yolo…life is short, don’t waste it. Title: Week 3 – “Girl Talk” Main Thought:  Purity paves the way to intimacy Scripture: Proverbs 4:23, 1 Peter 1:13-16, Proverbs 31:10,

Message explanation: Did you know that the average person falls in “love” 5 times between the ages of 13-19 years old. Dating is practicing marriage. How is a girl supposed to interact with guys?

What does the Bible say about following our Heart?

1. Guard your heart Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23 “Heart” refers to your mind as being the center of reasoning and thinking.

1 Peter 1:13-16 says, “So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, ‘You must be holy because I am holy.’”

2. How we Dress reveals our heart "Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.4 You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." 1 Peter 3:3-4.

3 QUESTIONS TO ASK ABOUT YOUR APPEARANCE… 1. Am I trying to hide something? 2. What kind of attention am I trying to attract? 3. Do I spend the same amount of time and energy on my heart as I do my appearance?

If you do not have guardrails in dating, you hand the keys to your life to another person to make the big choices in life. The person you marry is the second largest decision of life!

Purity paves the way to intimacy. God has a plan for you! Guard your heart and spend your energy on your inner beauty.
