Strategy for Missions in Student Ministry

"

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8.

Leading students to serve is one of the greatest opportunities we have as youth workers. We can teach messages and small groups throughout the year, but if students do not learn tangible ways they can serve God, we are only doing half the work.

We want to continually move towards a student ministry OF students, not just TO them.

We are making decisions with our plans to make it a priority to lead students to serve. Acts 1:8 is our verse that helps us see the local, national and worldwide need for missions!

"Jerusalem" | Abandon Weekend - Serving our local community with other churches in the area on February 8-10, 2013.

"Judea/Samaria" | XFUGE Mission Camp - serving nationally with students in Greenville, South Carolina on July 15-20, 2013

"Ends of the Earth" | Costa Rica Mission Trip- Serving children in the San Ramon area with Pura Vida Missions on March 24-31, 2013.

Small group led missions. Our main goal is for students in small groups to serve together throughout the year beyond the 3 mission trips. Adult leaders working with their group to serve together builds teamwork and unity.

What thoughts do you have to lead students to serve on mission?
